Our Safaris

Okavango River Safaris is a privately owned mobile safari company operating in the heart of the Okavango Delta using custom designed aluminium safari boats.  For information on our boat safaris please click here. We are based in Maun, Botswana, and the company is owner run and managed by Jacques Conradie and Mike Watson, both licensed  professional guides and honorary wildlife officers.  Collectively we have over 25 years of guiding experience with extensive knowledge of the channels of the Okavango Delta and one of us will always accompany you on safari.  We have an excellent team of guides, camp assistants and chefs who will look after all your needs on safari.  We are the only company who focus on the natural diversity of the Okavango Delta, its breath taking landscapes, abundant birdlife and wildlife.  We offer fully inclusive luxury camping safaris in the Okavango Delta by boat. The Okavango Delta covers an area of approximately 16 000 square kilometres and to experience the complete diversity of the Delta it is necessary to traverse through the heart of this of the Delta which is ±180km from Maun by boat.  To experience this we recommend that you spend a minimum of 5 days on our safaris.

We operate a small fleet of aluminium boats custom designed to safely operate safaris in the Okavango Delta. We own two 6.4m T Craft Alligators fitted with environmentally friendly and quiet running four stroke motors, River Raptor and River Runner, which are ideally suited for luxury boat safaris on the Okavango Delta.  Raptor and Runner are designed to each carry 6 guests, in comfort and style, which allows plenty of legroom and space to move around freely. The T Craft Alligator is renowned for its built quality, comfort, stability and handling and it is known to be the best craft for safaris on the Okavango Delta.  In addition to our two guest boats, we also operate a 8m Swamp Cruiser and a 5m Nicol's freight boats, Madala and River Reign , renowned for their weight carrying capacity. Our freight boats carry all the creature comforts required for a luxury mobile camp, set up by our team of professional staff prior to your arrival at your exclusive mobile camp on one of the many islands in the Okavango Delta.
